The following images come from some of the dozens that I snapped during a visit to Alaska in June 2000. They don't purport to convey the sense of scale that Alaskan lands represent, but should at least offer hints at some of the things that I found of interest while I was there. The trip covered three primary areas: Attu Island, the western-most island in the Aleutian chain; Homer and Kachemak Bay on the Kenai peninsula; and Seward and the Kenai Fjords, also on the Kenai peninsula. Before getting to Attu there was an unplanned side adventure that took me to Talkeetna on the way to Denali.
As I took two cameras (a 35mm SLR as well as a digital camera), these images only show a part of my trip. For the camera enthusiast, the images shown on these pages were taken with an Olympus D-450 Zoom.

Travel to Attu requires a great deal of specialized preparation; many thanks to Attour for making the adventure possible. That era is now history; see Attour's pages for details.
